     August 19, 1996.

In a bold move today the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway has announced that the next order of 4300 horsepower SD75M's from Electro Motive Division will be painted in the time-honored black and silver zebra stripe paint shceme that adorned ATSF's early locomotive fleet. "This, along with our red and silver warbonnet paint shows our committment to recognize our heritage while providing the transportation services for the future," said CEO Eric Goodman. The next order for 25 locomotives will be delivered in a modified version of the Zebra stripe scheme. The stripes will be angled opposite of the locomotives of an earlier era to reflect the speed of service that ATSF provides today. "We are providing today an HO Scale model of what the new paint scheme will look like to give the press an idea of what we are doing."

On a more serious note, here's one of my past models which was nearing completion, an SD75M in zebra stripe paint.
